Synopsis

MICHAEL KAGE SANTORI doesn’t think his life can get any more complicated. Juggling a new business, a fledgling UFC career, and the only real relationship he’s ever had is taking a toll on him both mentally and physically. After being attacked for daring to question the inner workings of his own business, he is left broken and confused. The discovery of his uncle’s journals has brought him face-to-face with a past he never understood, and the new perspective has him reeling. Add to that the fact that he hasn’t been totally honest with the love of his life, and you have a recipe for a serious nervous breakdown.
When an old friend resurfaces with new information, Kage discovers things are only going to get worse before they get better. If he ever hopes to free himself from the chains of his uncle’s dark legacy, he’s going to have to become something he never wanted to be.
And risk losing the only person he’s ever truly loved.
JAMIE ATWOOD is in over his head. Instead of the happily ever after he’d envisioned, moving in with Kage has only been one disappointment after another. Kage has come out to the entire world and still managed to keep his reputation and his UFC contract intact, but mysterious forces Jamie has yet to discover are transforming his sexy alpha fighter into someone he doesn’t recognize anymore.
If Kage doesn’t come clean soon, Jamie fears he’s going to have to leave. With his journalism degree and a newly-flourishing MMA blog, he knows he’s got what it takes to make it on his own financially. It’s his heart he’s worried about.
Because without Kage by his side, what is there to live for?
MEANWHILE IN ANOTHER LIFETIME...
PETER SANTORI has found his bliss. Being Gio’s boy is a dream come true for a guy who thought he was doomed to a life of abuse and poverty. His confidence and sense of security are flourishing in the warm glow of Gio’s love, and he has started to believe that maybe he can have the fairytale after all.
Never mind that he’s got to keep the true nature of their relationship a secret. Never mind that one of Gio’s associates seems to have something against him. And never mind that sometimes he gets the feeling that there’s a lot more to Gio than meets the eye. All that matters is that he and Gio are together.
4 EVER & EVER...

Jane’s Review

Wowzers! Was that a ride or what? My heart is beating out of my chest after that angst fest. Didn't I tell you I had a feeling that things would get worse before they got better for Kage and Jamie? Sorry to tell you folks, but it's true! However, it's an absolute page turner and I was thoroughly engrossed in the story and I loved it, angst and all!

This is the second in the Santori trilogy that continues from the original Kage saga. You really do have to read the series in order to be able to follow Kage and Jamie's story and that of Kage’s uncle, Peter Santori. We left the last book with Kage being distant and keeping secrets of his Uncle’s shady business dealings from Jamie. Jamie is feeling neglected and kept in the dark, especially when Kage returns from a ‘mugging’ all beat to hell. Things turn even more complicated for Kage when he is dragged by both sides of his Uncle’s business partners in very different directions. The only thing both have in common is the need for Jamie to be gone. Kage hates to do this but wants to keep Jamie safe at any cost, even if that means breaking his own heart. God, I really felt for them both at this point, sort of pleased that Jamie found the necessary strength, but unhappy at the turn of events, and just frustrated with Kage, much like he feels at himself and the situation he finds himself in through no fault of his own.

Kage then sets about sorting things out and that takes him back to his Uncle Peter’s journals. We find ourselves once again immersed in the world of a young, na├»ve Peter Santori who worships with utter devotion, his older ‘daddy’ and owner of the Alcazar hotel, Gio Rivera. What transpires in these journals will have your heart in your mouth and wondering just how things are going to pan out. I was terrified for Peter but by the end, we can start to see that what happens must change a person. Is it this that changes Peter Santori into the monster we know he became or do we have more twists and turns to his story before we know? Also I'm dying to know what happened to Gio Rivera, is he still around? Like I said this had me absolutely entranced and like Kage after he’d read it, I felt like I knew them and it was fascinating to see Kage connect and almost become, in a way, Gio Rivera.

I am literally bursting to see how the next book turns out. I want all of Peter Santori’s journey. I want to see what happened to Gio Rivera. I want to know what is going to become of Theo, a shady business partner of older Peter Santori, but most of all I want to know if Kage and Jamie make it. Will they get their HEA? I really hope so.

Santori (The Santori Trilogy Book 1)

THE KAGE SAGA CONTINUES...

Michael Kage Santori has just inherited a thriving hotel and millions of dollars. He’s poised to become an MMA champion. Things couldn’t be better between him and his college boy lover, Jamie Atwood— especially in the bedroom, where Jamie is more than eager to let Kage take out his aggressions on him.

Kage seems to have it all, but success and happiness have come at a steep price. After all of the childhood trauma he endured at the hands of his controlling uncle, Peter Santori, it’s a miracle Kage has any shred of sanity left. And now, because of him, Jamie is a murderer.

More than anything, Kage wants to be good. He wants the be the kind of man who is worthy of Jamie’s love, but fate has other ideas. His uncle’s legacy has a stranglehold on him, and it keeps dragging him further and further down a rabbit hole from which there seems no escape. Worst of all… Kage knows he’s going to pull Jamie down right along with him, and he would rather die than let that happen.

The Kage Trilogy

kageKage (Book 1)

My name is Jamie Atwood, and I’m an addict. I never thought I’d say such a thing. Never had a problem being overly-attached to anything in my life. I came from a perfectly middle-class family, made good grades, and had a hot cheerleader girlfriend... but the truth is, nothing ever really moved me. So how did a guy like me become an addict?
I met Michael Kage.
Kage is an MMA fighter. A famous one. I like to think I helped him get that way.
He’s charming as hell, with looks to rival any movie star and talent to back it up. So why did he need to hire me as an intern Publicist? Simple. He has a darkness in him– like a black hole so deep it could swallow him, and me, and everyone we know– and that’s not good for business.
The first time I met him, I felt the pull. I think the addiction began at that very moment. And even if I’d known then what I know now, I would have fallen for him. How could I not?
For me, Kage is everything.

Kage Unleashed (Book 2)

In a battle of the heart, who will be the first to submit?

My name is Jamie Atwood, and I am an idiot. Against all odds, I got the attention of Michael Kage, the hottest MMA fighter on the planet. To say he rocked my world would be an understatement. He transformed me completely, made me depend on him, and made me love him. And the sex? Let me put it this way: I'd never been with a guy before I met Kage, but I'd gladly spend the rest of my life on my knees for him. He is my obsession and my addiction. But I did something stupid, and now I'm paying for it. I don't know if I'll ever see Kage again.

***

Being Michael Kage was never easy. Too many demons, too much anger, and not enough to live for. And then I met Jamie Atwood. He's got this innocence about him that speaks to something deep down inside me- in a place that's never been touched by anyone. He's beautiful, smart, and courageous, and he hasn't been tainted by the darkness that's ruled my life. I wanted him from the first second I laid eyes on him. It's selfish, I know. Because you can't bring an innocent thing into the darkness and not expect something to rub off.

Meet Maris Black

When I finally started writing fiction for a living, I surprised myself with my choice of genre. I’d always known I wanted to write romance, but the first story that popped out was about a couple of guys finding love during a threesome with a woman. Then I wrote about more guys, and more guys, and more guys. I was never a reader of gay fiction, and I’d never planned to write it. The only excuse I have for myself is that when I finally got serious and put pen to paper, or hand to keyboard as it were, M/M is what came out.

I now adore the M/M genre with all my heart. It feels sort of like coming home. I can’t quite explain it. I’ve always had openly gay and bisexual friends and relatives, the rights and acceptance of whom are very important to me, so it feels great to celebrate that. But there’s also something so pure and honest about the love between two men that appeals to me on a romantic level and inspires me to write.
