Q&A About An Officer’s Submission
Hello and thank you for having me on the Sinfully Gay Romance blog today! I’m continuing my tour for An Officer’s Submission, Book IV in my Cuffs, Collars and Love series. This book features two characters who are dear to my heart, Logan and Clay, who I first wrote about in The Sergeant. For this post, I turned to readers and friends and asked them what they would like to know about An Officer’s Submission.
What was it like writing Logan and Clay again?
It was awesome! Logan and Clay are probably my favorite characters I’ve created so far. It was nice to spend time with them and their team again. And since I know them so well, writing their dialogue and reactions becomes almost second nature. However, it was also tough! When you have characters that you love and readers love as well, it can be intimidating when writing them again. You have a lot of expectations to live up to and you don’t want to disappoint any readers. I had to push that worry aside several times as I was writing.
What was it like writing what happened to Clay?
I’ll keep this spoiler free as much as possible. Clay is hurt on the job. And writing about it was painful. I’m used to writing angst and sexy bits. Writing what happened to Clay was very different for me. I wasn’t sure how far I should go with it, because I was concerned about reader reactions. And also because I didn’t want to hurt my guy! But after receiving feedback from my beta readers that said they thought the scene could go further, I sat down, put on scary music and went for it. Then I cried and ate chocolate.
Are you going to write any more stories with Logan and Clay or any of their friends?
Yep! I’m actually working on the next book now. And it’s *drumroll* Hector Castillo! I had a different path in mind for the team’s cocky sniper. But as I was writing one of the last scenes in The Detective’s Pleasure it popped into my head that Hector needed a relationship, and there was a special guy out there waiting for him.
Will any of the books in this series have POC as the main characters?
I know I’ve technically already answered this question above – Hector is a Mexican American character and he’s getting the next book. But I wanted to go a little more into detail because this is something that is important to me. When I originally planned the Cuffs, Collars and Love series, I had several POC couples who were to get their own books. Unfortunately, those couples were all m/f and I later decided to keep the series m/m. As a result, I ended up without any stories featuring main characters with different ethnicities. Of course, Hector’s story will fix that. I guess I owe him a big thanks for deciding he wanted to be more than a side character!
Will Captain Hayden ever have his own book?
I honestly don’t know. It’s been made clear that Captain Hayden is married and in the closet. Will he come out? I’m not sure. He has a mutually beneficial relationship with his wife and I don’t know if he is a person who will upset his life and everything he’s accomplished so far. We’ll see. Ask me again next year.
Thanks again for having me on the blog today! I appreciate the opportunity to discuss my work and look forward to chatting with everyone. Readers, feel free to drop any questions you have for me in the comments. Have a wonderful week!

An Officer's Submission is Book Four in the Cuffs, Collars, and Love series. If you love romance that is epic, emotional and erotic, you’ll want to give this series a read!
“Come here.” Clay followed the gentle pull Logan gave his hand to drop down to the couch and straddle his lap.
“You’re my lover. My submissive. It’s my right and my pleasure to protect you, always.” He brought a hand up, his thumb sliding across the metal collar that circled Clay’s neck. “I won’t let anything or anyone hurt you or take you away from me.”
A thrill shot through Clay at that declaration. Logan’s unapologetic possessiveness had caused problems early on in their relationship, but they’d worked on it and come to an understanding on boundaries. Now, he was able to revel in Logan’s possessiveness and caring, because he knew it wouldn’t get out of hand. Clay pressed his forehead to Logan’s and closed his eyes. “I love when you talk to me like that.”
Logan’s hand moved to grip the back of his neck. “Do you?”
His eyes still closed, Clay nodded.
“Tell me why.”
“Because it makes me feel like the most important thing in your world. I’ve never felt like that with anyone.”
“It’s true. You are the most important thing to me. Having you in my life, wearing my collar, means everything to me.”
Clay opened his eyes and looked into his lover’s gaze, seeing the sincerity there. Not that he doubted him. Logan had proven time and time again how much he loved him. “I don’t deserve you, Sir. And I don’t do enough to show you how much I love you in return.”
“You don’t have to do anything to deserve me. I’m with you because I don’t ever want to be with anyone else.”
“Well, maybe I can show you what I feel tonight. Physically.” He brought a hand up to rub the pad of muscle on Logan’s chest. “Let me serve you, Sir.”
